The Academy Giving Tree is a Great Success

 On Saturday, Ms. Maguire and Ms. Gonzalez, both adult martial arts students, met at the Academy to sort and wrap the presents that were donated to the Academy Giving Tree.

Seeing the generosity of the Academy community is inspiring. The Academy is so much more than a place to work out and the people who work there, attend classes there, or bring their kids to programs there become part of the Academy family. 

Early in December Academy students were invited to nominate another Academy family who was in need of a little boost this holiday season at the end of a very difficult year. The outpouring of love and requests to help were immediate and overwhelming (in a really good way). There were so many people who wanted to donate that we expanded our gift giving to a non-profit organization, My Sister's Place, which serves women and families in the Greater Hartford Area. Those donations are still coming in and we'll be delivering them in January. The only thing we regret is not getting this project going in November so we could reach and help more people!

Thank you so much to everyone who donated. We know that there were more people out there who wanted to help, but were not able to due to their own difficult year. We felt your love too. All the gifts are greatly appreciated and your generosity is sincerely heart warming. 

Happy Holidays to all, and may 2021 bring us all the reprieve from the stress that 2020 has brought on the world. Your Academy family loves you and we are all excited for the time we can be together again.
